How to share Google Drive file publicly

Have you ever wanted to share the Google Drive files or folder publicly or to an individual? If yes, then follow the below method to share the Google Drive Files publicly or to the people outside of your organization.

Share Google Drive file Publicly

  1. Login into your Google Drive Account (skip the step, if already logged in).
  2. Google Login

  3. Right Click on the File that you want to share publicly and Select Share.

  5. Click on the Change Link:

  7. Click on the Organization Dropdown Menu:

  9. Under the Organization Dropdown Menu, Select Anyone with the Link:

  11. Click on the Copy URL button to Copy the File URL to the Clipboard.

    That’s it. Now, you can share the copied link to anyone or any website or forums. People can view or access the file without facing any restrictions.


[*] Advantage: Google Drive Public files can be accessed without even login into the Google Account. Drive also allows you to share the link to the people inside of your organization.

[*] Revoke Sharing Permissions: If you ever changed your mind and want to revoke the sharing permissions, then in that situation: Open Google Drive > Right Click on File > Click on Change Link > Click on Organization Dropdown > Select Restricted > Click on Done Button.
